Upcoming Events:

Strikeforce NZ Presents MMA Supremacy 4

Karl Webber

This 4th installment of the Supremacy Cage Fighting series will feature another triple main event.

MMA SUPREMACY NZ WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT

Headlining will be a showdown between arguably 2 of the countries pound for pound best MMA exponents. Strikeforce’s “Hot Rod MacSwain and Eugene Bareman who fights out of City Kickboxing and is trained in BJJ by Douglas Santos.

Rod comes in with an impressive 7 wins and 1 loss record in MMA. A fan favourite at MMA Supremacy, Rod has just come off recent victories in Australia (which has given him a shot at a Welterweight Title over there) and at the last Supremacy event where he avenged his only defeat when he re-matched and defeated John “Red Devil” Erskine.

Eugene comes with an undefeated MMA record of 4 wins and 0 losses. He also sports an impressive kickboxing record of 16 wins 2 losses and has held no less than 4 NZ MuayThai Kickboxing titles in a number of weight classes. Eugenes latest MMA victory was earlier this year when he defeated veteran MMA fighter Scott Benson by choke.

This Welterweight Title Fight alone will be worth the price of admission.

MMA SUPREMACY NZ HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT

Supporting this match in the co main event, former NZ Heavyweight Champion Sam “Striker” Brown will be looking to regain his title, which has been recently vacated by Leamy Tato after being not active for over a year and failing to defend it after a number of challenges. Sam currently holds the NZ Light Heavy weight title and the NZ Combat Sports Open MMA Heavyweight Belt.

His opponent for the title challenge is South Island hard man Benji “KO” Kney who holds the (Ultimate Martial Arts Fighting) UMAF Heavyweight Title and simultaneously the Heavyweight Gladiator Challenge Title.

This bout will be a NZ Heavyweight Unification Title Fight to find out the true NZ heavyweight champion. A rematch which ended with Sam knocking Benji out last time they met this bout will rock the cage to it’s core. Benji very keen to settle the score and Sam amped to regain his Heavyweight Belt

MMA SUPREMACY NZ LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

The third fight in the main event will see Strikeforce’s Justin Reti take on Fightshop NZ‘s Adam Calver. Justin has a 6 win 1 loss fight record in both traditional Muay Thai Boxing and the hybrid Xtreme Thai Fighting, Adam is another rising Supremacy star with 2 wins from 2 fights in the Supremacy cage he also brings a Muay Thai Boxing fight record of 10 wins 2 losses. These boys love to stand and bang but are very capable on the ground if the fight ends up there.

An awesome undercard of MMA, Xtreme Thai and Muay Thai Kickboxing bouts will support these 3 title fights.
